ORGANIZING FOR THE FUTURE

The heart of our organization is the thousands of people who turn love into action by dedicating their time, energy, and passion. Our members take on the responsibility and build the skills needed to lead the fight.

Fall Opportunities

Join us for Action Autumn!

This fall, students and young people from across the Hudson Valley and beyond will make calls, knock doors, talk to peers, and host actions to build the powerful organization we need to challenge the political status quo and win historic change. No experience necessary!

Have 4 hours of free time per week? Interested in getting credit for Field Work? Want to meet other students interested in fighting for social justice? You can play a key role in this critical moment for housing, climate, and economic justice.

The program will start the week of September 18th, with an orientation likely the weekend of September 16/17th. It will end when classes end for winter recess.

EXTENDED application deadline is September 14 — spots are limited in some roles, so it’s recommended that you apply as early as possible. Apply here.

Develop essential organizing skills! In the fall of 2023, we will be working on an exciting state assembly race! Claire Cousin is a longtime Hudson community leader, co-founder of the Hudson/Catskill Housing Coalition, and the first and youngest Black woman elected to the Columbia County Board of Supervisors. As a longtime youth and housing advocate, Claire running to fight for working families like hers in the State Assembly. We need folks to help us reach out to voters, hear about the issues that matter most to them and organize them into our people-powered campaign!

Learn about the grassroots fundraising it takes to make all this happen! For the Many is rapidly growing and this rapid growth relies heavily on our grassroots fundraising. For the Many has one of the strongest grassroots fundraising programs in the country for an organization of its size. Our grassroots fundraising program builds power by raising funds and bringing thousands of people into contact with our work. It is built by a dedicated core team of fundraising interns and volunteers.

Develop essential organizing skills! For the Many has a large existing student base to mobilize. There are also thousands of students at schools in the Hudson Valley and upstate New York that we hope to connect with our work! Student organizing interns will work to engage and expand our student base. We will have both in person and remote opportunities for student organizing interns.

Develop essential online organizing skills! For the Many has a large non-local base to mobilize. There are thousands of people outside of the Hudson Valley, in New York and beyond, that we hope to connect with our work! Distributed organizing interns will work to engage and expand our non-local base.

This program is for folks who are interested in making a meaningful contribution to our organizing work but aren’t able to make the weekly meetings that our intern roles require!

 

For this role, participants will do ~2-3 hours of independent work per week from September 23rd to December 4th. Participants will also attend two trainings for the program: one 3 hour recruitment training the weekend of September 23rd/24th and one 2 hr management training the week of November 13th.

 

This is a great opportunity if you’re interested in learning about grassroots fundraising, gaining organizing skills, and beginning to level up your involvement with For the Many!
