An America For All of Us

Keeping families together to strengthen our communities

We believe in a country where everyone can thrive, not just survive. But right now, our current immigration system denies fundamental human rights by separating people from their families, homes, and communities. We know that no matter where we were born – whether we are Black, Brown, or White – we are all stronger when we fight together for an inclusive, diverse America.

None of us are free until all of us are.

OUR APPROACH

PASSING THE UNEMPLOYMENT BRIDGE PROGRAM

The Unemployment Bridge Program would provide unemployment compensation to workers who are excluded from regular unemployment insurance, primarily because of their immigration status or because of the kind of work they do. It would be a permanent program addressing a gap in our safety net, building off of the one-time victory of the Excluded Workers Fund.

The New York for All Act broadly prohibits state and local officers from enforcing federal immigration laws, funnelling people into ICE custody, and sharing sensitive information with ICE. It prohibits ICE from entering non-public areas of state and local property without a judicial warrant. It also ensures that people in custody are given notice of their rights before being interviewed by ICE, and starts the process of limiting ICE access to state information databases.
