Seven weeks past the deadline and we’re still waiting for a state budget deal. Governor Hochul has held the budget hostage to force through an agenda that sells out everyday New Yorkers for her billionaire donors. We’re not letting her hold-up stop us: we’re fighting to win our campaigns to freeze rent upstate, tax the rich, stop New York from helping ICE, and take over Central Hudson—both in the state budget process and beyond.

Over the past month, we’ve had big days of action in Albany to tax the rich and freeze rent upstate. These Albany visits are really important to our campaigns because they give us a chance to make our voices heard and lobby legislators to support our bills.
We have less than THREE weeks left before the legislative session ends and our lawmakers go home for the rest of the year. Join us on May 27th for this year’s final Albany Day of Action to fight for the Hudson Valley Power Authority Act. RSVP here to reserve your spot on the bus.

We’re hosting a series of Rental Ripoff Hearings to build the momentum we need to freeze rent upstate. We’ll be coming together as neighbors to bring the issues we’ve faced out in the open, connect with helpful resources, and talk about how we can pass the REST Act to protect tenants.
