Organizer Internship

Background

This summer, we’re running a 9 week training series on how to engage everyday people in political action!
At For the Many, organize thousands of people to take action by knocking doors, making calls, organizing their peers, and raising money to win a Hudson Valley that works for all of us!
This summer, Organizing Interns will play a crucial role in helping to organize around immigrant rights, housing, and climate campaigns throughout the Hudson Valley!

Key tasks/skills developed:

Canvassing/Tabling, talking to students on campus about our campaigns, recruiting potential volunteers and members

Phonebanking, calling students to talk to them about our campaigns, recruiting potential volunteers and members

Volunteer Engagement, having 1-1 conversations with volunteers to develop their relationship with the organization

Relational Organizing, organizing your own networks to take action for progressive issue and electoral campaigns in NY

Fundraising, participating in our week long fundraising drive from June 2nd to June 8th

Data Management, getting trained in and utilizing EveryAction (CRM) and Airtable to manage contact data

Familiarity with digital organizing tools, including EveryAction, scaletowin, Mailmerge, Airtable

Event Planning, including writing agendas, handling logistics, and setting up events/meetings

Potentially…

Facilitation, facilitating in meetings and events
Volunteer management, managing a group of volunteers and supporting them to engage in our work
Digital Canvassing, using social media to engage and canvass non-local contacts
