Community Engagement Internship
Background
- This summer, we’re running a 9 week training series on how to engage everyday people in political action!
- At For the Many, organize thousands of people to take action by knocking doors, making calls, organizing their peers, and raising money to win a Hudson Valley that works for all of us!
- This summer, Community Engagement Interns will play a crucial role in helping to organize around immigrant rights, housing, and climate campaigns throughout the Hudson Valley!
Shifts/time:
- 4 hours a week from June 1st to July 31st, 2026
Location:
- Kingston area OR Poughkeepsie Area
Key tasks/skills developed:
Canvassing/Tabling, talking to students on campus about our campaigns, recruiting potential volunteers and members
Phonebanking, calling students to talk to them about our campaigns, recruiting potential volunteers and members
Volunteer Engagement, having 1-1 conversations with volunteers to develop their relationship with the organization
Relational Organizing, organizing your own networks to take action for progressive issue and electoral campaigns in NY
Fundraising, participating in our week long fundraising drive from June 2nd to June 8th

- Digital Canvassing, using social media to engage and canvass non-local contacts
