Protected the Right to Drive

Despite last year’s law restoring driver’s license access to everyone, only ONE DMV in Orange County was issuing licenses to those without social security numbers, and only after they waited in a separate(!) line for hours. People were forced to start lining up at 2am in the morning to get seen.

But we fought back — and we won. We worked with union leaders and elected officials to stop this discriminatory practice and increase the number of DMVs in Orange County issuing licenses to ALL New Yorkers!
