Middletown Common Council Backs Act Keeping ICE Officers Out of Courts

The Middletown Common Council on Tuesday night passed a resolution to support the Protect Our Courts Act. Co-sponsored by state Assembly members Jonathan Jacobson and Kevin Cahill, the act would make it unlawful for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers to arrest a person who is going to, attending or leaving court unless the officer presents a valid judicial warrant or court order.
