Hinchey stays silent on proposed Good Cause Eviction legislation

State Senator Michelle Hinchey, D-Saugerties, remained silent this week on the so-called proposed Good Cause Eviction law.

On Tuesday, the Housing Justice for All Coalition and  For the Many, along with partner organizations Columbia County Sanctuary Movement, Hudson-Catskill Housing Coalition, and Mid-Hudson Valley DSA, showed up at Hinchey’s campaign kickoff fundraiser in Catskill to demand her support for the legislation.

Advocates handed out fliers and spoke to Hinchey’s supporters outside of the fundraiser, and several members disrupted her speech inside the event, sharing stories from her constituents who have been victimized by the housing crisis, according to a press release from the advocacy group For the Many.
