Grassroots Fundraising Intern Role
Background:
- For the Many is rapidly growing and this rapid growth relies heavily on our grassroots fundraising. For the Many has one of the strongest grassroots fundraising programs in the country for an organization of its size. Our grassroots fundraising program builds power by raising funds and bringing thousands of people into contact with our work. It is built by a dedicated core team of fundraising interns and volunteers.
Shifts / Time:
- 3-4 hour weekly commitment — 1.5 hr meeting, ~2 hrs independent work
Location:
- In-Person or Online, depending on your location
Key Tasks/skills developed:
- Building stronger analysis of For the Many’s work, including fundraising strategy & landscape
- Recruiting volunteers, including talking about For the Many, making strong “organizing asks”
- Relational organizing, recruiting folks from your own personal networks to take action for progressive issue and electoral campaigns in NY
- Managing volunteers during the fundraising drive, including developing capacity to communicate assertively and delegate tasks
- Self-management, including developing systems to manage your own work and many moving pieces
- Fundraising, learning how to ask your personal networks to make contributions
