Newburgh issues 93 cards on first day of city ID program

The City Clerk’s office issued a total of 93 ID cards between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Tuesday. Fifty-five cards were handed out before noon, according to a social media post from the local activist group Nobody Leaves Mid-Hudson.

“We are learning as we go, but providing nearly 100 people with IDs today is a win all around,” Donat said Tuesday afternoon.

Nobody Leaves Mid-Hudson has made a major push in municipalities throughout the region to institute municipal ID programs and had a handful of volunteers at City Hall to help with Newburgh’s launch.
