October Newsletter
It’s Ash from For the Many, reaching out with this month’s updates. We’ve been making big moves lately with our housing justice work – from showing up in force to testify for #HomesAreNotHotels at council meetings to growing our Good Cause Eviction campaign in Middletown to launching our historic campaign to REDUCE rents for 1200+ tenants in Kingston.
There has never been a better time to get involved – whether virtually or in-person, we have opportunities for YOU to plug in and help us transform New York!
We’ve launched a historic campaign to REDUCE rents in Kingston for the 1200 + tenants who are now covered by the Emergency Tenant Protection Act (ETPA).
But in order to win, we need to mobilize tenants to the upcoming Rent Guidelines Board hearings. Sign up to canvass tenants with us this Saturday, or join us at the hearings on Tuesday, October 25 at 6pm or Saturday, November 5 at 12pm.
We’re showing up to Council meetings in Newburgh and Poughkeepsie every other week to speak in support of our #HomesAreNotHotels legislation. Want to fight back against whole-home Airbnbs in your community? Sign up to testify with us!

We’re also building momentum for our Good Cause Eviction campaign in Middletown! If you live in the Middletown area and want to get involved, email vanessa@forthemany.org to plug in.
Whether you’re a longtime supporter or just got involved a few weeks ago, we’re grateful you’re in this fight with us. We’ll have more exciting updates soon!
