Evan Menist

Evan Menist is a proud progressive who is running for his third term on the Poughkeepsie Common Council. During his time in office, Evan has championed Good Cause Eviction, our Homes Are Not Hotels legislation and fought for funding for a vacancy study that would lead Poughkeepsie to opt-in to rent stabilization through the Emergency Tenant Protection Act. 

Evan is passionate about fighting the housing crisis and addressing racial disparities in law enforcement. He supports funding treatment for addiction, setting up safe injection sites, and creating alternatives for people to call instead of the police.
