We won a Middletown Municipal ID ✊
We won a Middletown Municipal ID!
This victory belongs to our members and leaders — the very people who started our municipal ID campaign in Middletown more than a year ago.
This victory is the culmination of tireless work and countless meetings with city council members, mobilizations to council meetings, reminder calls, and flyers too!
This victory will prevent deportations and change the lives of thousands who cannot access identification because of their immigration status, age, income, gender, and criminal record.
And this victory is only the beginning. This is only a taste of what we can win when we fight together — a taste that is only making our hunger and determination for liberation more powerful with each day. We still have municipal IDs to pass in Kingston, Beacon, and Wawick. We still have driver’s licenses to make accessible to all New Yorkers. And we still have a whole new world to fight for and win.

Last night was as much as anything a demonstration of democracy, where everyone regardless of immigration status, age, or criminal record could participate in the shaping of our cities and lives.
Today’s election will too shape our lives at an even greater scale— but not everyone will get a say. So we’re asking you: if you can vote, please do!
You can find your polling place here. And you can still help us Get Out The Vote with the New York Immigration Coalition’s #ImmigrantsVote campaign here.
Yesterday, we organized. Today, those of us who can will vote. And tomorrow, we’ll organize again.
¡Adelante!
